Looking for a way to celebrate the life and accomplishments of Martin Luther King Jr.? Check out these Tulsa events.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade

When: 11am
Where: Starting at Pine Street and Cincinnati Avenue in downtown Tulsa
This annual parade – the theme of which for this year is “Dream It, Plan It, Do It: Yes We Can!” – will proceed from Pine and Greenwood through what was once known throughout the U.S. as Black Wall Street, ending at Archer Street. Always a glorious production.

MLK Day Community Breakfast
When: 8:30-10:30am
Where: Metropolitan Tulsa Urban League, 240 E. Apache
Made possible with donations from Bama, Borden, QuikTrip, United Way, Walmart and The Wild Fork – yes, The Wild Fork. You know this is gonna be good.

I Am A Man: Memphis ’68
When: Every hour, on the hour, from 1pm-8pm
Where: Circle Cinema, 12 S. Lewis Ave.
Since this movie packs some complicated themes – manhood, race and civil rights – I’ll leave it to you to decide if this is a good choice for you and the kids. If you’re unencumbered, be sure to catch a free showing of this 30-minute, not-rated movie, showing in remembrance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
