The Mother Road: Erin Sees Tulsa
Posted by Tasha on August 12th, 2010 in Attractions
Inspired by a recent conversation I had with one, Blake Ewing, owner of Joe Momma’s in downtown Tulsa, I decided it was time to share these images with you.
They’re images of one of Tulsa’s top treasures. And, according to Blake, a top tourist attraction, even by the world’s standards.
Do you have any idea what I’m talking about? Any at all?
Route 66, baby. You may know it better as the Mother Road.
To be honest, I didn’t even know where it began and eneded in Tulsa. I had driven Route 66 on the west side of the city but never on the east. I was educated by TDT on the finer points of this gem, this beautiful road that runs right through our town, so off I went with my Polaroid in tow.
Like most everything else that captures my eye, Route 66 is full of color. Always color.
What’s your favorite stop on Tulsa’s stretch of Route 66?
