Happy Thanksgiving! (Also, some cute animal photos)

In lieu of the daily Things To Do in Tulsa Today post, I want to take this opportunity to wish you all a happy Thanksgiving. You’re the best darned looking blog readers on this planet, and you’re sweethearts, too. Thanks for being awesome and taking time out of your day to check out this little corner of the web. Because of you I get to spend my time telling as many people as I can about my favorite city in the world.
In other words, it’s the coolest job ever. That I get to do most of it in the high school band t-shirts and the various holiday-themed socks I wear to bed is a bonus. So thank you all for that.
I’m going to go for a change of pace here and encourage you all to sit on your butts as much as possible today. Make a you-shaped dent in your couch. Spend some time with family and friends.
Here’s some irresistible cuteness to share with them when you do.
These photos were taken at Tulsa Zoo as part of enrichment day for the animals there. It’s their little way of celebrating Thanksgiving.
Ahhh! Overwhelming cuteness!
Nom, nom, nom.
Oh, the elephants. The elephants are my favorite.
And this is why. Check out the look on this elephant’s face. Someone’s having a blast smashing that pumpkin to bits.
If you’re itching to get out and away from all the family time you’ll experience today and can’t be forced to stay home, a trip to Tulsa Zoo is an option (yes, it’s open every Thanksgiving).
Or, check out these lights-on events this evening.
Or, if you’re still looking for a place to have that Thanksgiving feast, check out this list of Tulsa-area restaurants serving up the good stuff.
And if anyone has turbaconducken on his/her holiday table, please e-mail me (with photos).
