The Tasha Does Tulsa Gift Guide 2010
Posted by Tasha on December 3rd, 2010 in Gift Guide
“Great,” you’re saying under your breath. “Another *insert expletive here* holiday gift guide – I need another one of these like I need a hole in my head.”
Yeah, I know. The gift guides, they’re everywhere, especially if you receive mail and have access to the Internet. And hopefully, here in the year 2010, most of us fall into at least one of those two categories.
But no where else you’ll find a gift guide as beefy, as star-studded, as Tulsa-centric as this.
It’s been so tough not to leak any details of this year’s gift guide. As you’re about to find out, they are oh-so-juicy. I’ve somehow managed to keep it all under wraps.
That is, until right now, at this moment.
First I want to tell you about the celebrity-curated portions of the 2010 TDT Gift Guide. I’ve invited a select few Tulsa people of note and coolness to share with us their picks for the top local gifts this holiday season. A few of these folks have already turned in their lists and let me tell you, you’re gonna need to get your awesome goggles and your billfolds ready.
You’ll be hearing from me this year, too. I’ll have my picks of top Tulsa gifts in categories like best for guys, the tastiest treats for the locavore on your list and presents for your loved ones that also give back to the community.
That you’ll have a few chances to win some of the gifts featured here on the 2010 TDT Gift Guide is an added bonus that I think we can all appreciate. Because who doesn’t love getting free stuff in exchange for shopping local? It’s a pretty great deal, if you ask me.
But wait! There’s more.
A reason I hear pretty often from folks who grimace when I start in on my whole shop local rant is that compared to shopping online, shopping local is inconvenient. It involves driving a car, walking around a store and, most uncomfortable, wearing pants. Online shopping requires none of these things.
And I think anyone in his/her right mind could admit that being able to shop for anything one could imagine while wearing nothing but the suit the man upstairs sent with us into this world is pretty rad.
But what if you could both shop local and never leave your house? Then you could have what you love about shopping online and shopping local all at the same time, without any of the bullcrap that decreases the awesomeness of either experience.
Thanks to a new partnership between You Buy We Fly 918 and TashaDoesTulsa.com, you can. And you can save 10 percent doing it.
All you have to have to do to get the 10 percent discount with the folks at You Buy We Fly is get an idea of what it is you want from a Tulsa-based vendor, the YBWF phone number and the code that’s available no where else but here at TDT.
The You Buy We Fly number: (918) 906-0063
The code: LOVERS SHOP LOCAL
That’s it! Now you can look like a shop local hero without lifting a finger – all of your local-tastic gifts will be delivered right to your door. Everyone’s going to want to be more like you. You might want to start looking for an agent, actually.
Stay tuned for the first installments of the TDT Gift Guide 2010, one from me and one from one of our guest celebrity curators.
In the meantime, feel free to check out last year’s gift guide. The items mentioned there are still available and would look just as good clad in gift wrap this year as they did in 2009.

Gilcrease Museum has some stunning new jewelry. While there are plenty of the sterling-and-turquoise head-turners you’ve grown to expect, there are new, hip, nontraditional pieces for almost any personality. You should check it out!

Those first year Bel Airs are so elegantly styled. Their two-tone interiors elevated the normal Chevy look, too. I especially like the color combination in this test car, the blackwall tires bringing it all home! ; )
