Happy National Pie Day
Posted by Tasha on January 23rd, 2011 in Food
Regular readers of this blog know that I have a thing for pie.
I come by it honestly. I’ve been eating pie since I could eat solid food, and I’m pretty sure that most of you out there have, too. Pie is treasured here in the U.S. of A., and perhaps especially in the south and here in the midwest. Where any time you feel a whimper coming on, there’s sure to be a grandmother within close proximity who can sense it and instinctually jumps up to slap some sweet filling between two flaky crusts.
Thanks to the American Pie Council (yes, there’s an American Pie Council), today is National Pie Day. Here are a few posts from here at TDT that will serve as good reading as you nibble on your celebratory slice.

- More on Pie (A behind-the-scenes video tour of the inner workings of Tulsa-based Merritt’s Bakery, which was celebrating its 30th anniversary at the time)

Enjoy! And indulge.
