“Jersey Shore, the Opera:” Tulsa Bloggers Do Tulsa Opera’s Don Giovanni
Posted by Tasha on February 23rd, 2011 in Arts and Theatre, Music, Tulsa Blogs
Last Thursday evening several Tulsa bloggers made their way to downtown to catch the dress rehearsal of Tulsa Opera’s latest production, the classic Don Giovanni.
We laughed. We cried. We blogged. Here are the links to the first batch of posts.
Don Giovanni: Fiddlepit.
Golden quote: “Don Giovanni is a horrible, horrible dude. He’s a total womanizer and dishonest person. He reminds me of (Charlie Sheen) Gaston…except more rape-y and murder-ish.”
Fat Ass Goes to the Opera: Fat Ass to Fit Ass.
Golden quote: “A mix of tragedy and comedy as we watch the ill behavior and poor decisions of Don Giovanni. Women wailed and cried over his actions, he laughed and drank and tormented those around him. My date called it Jersey Shore the Opera.”
Don Giovanni: Jersey Shore Meets the Bachelor a la Mozart?: Real Housewives of Oklahoma
Golden Quote: “In today’s terms, it’s a bit Jersey Shore and Bachelor, with a hint of Real House Wives of New Jersey.”
TulsaKids Goes to the Opera: Betty Casey, Editor of TulsaKids
Golden quote: “Often, it’s easier for teens to talk when the topic is something external to themselves. Use the opera to explore thoughts, feelings and values. That’s what art can do for all of us.”
Did you see Tulsa Opera’s Don G. last Saturday? Are you going this weekend (the show’s on Friday night)? Leave your thoughts in the comments.

Thanks for the link, T! I hope Tulsa Opera lets us see a dress rehearsal for their next show as well.
