Every year the Tulsa City-County Library hosts Social Media University, a collection of workshops and classes about how social media users can make the most of their efforts online.

This year they asked me if I’d come talk for awhile about how businesses can put the smack down on their competitors and earn new customers by blogging. Even though I can’t even land a solid high-five, let alone throw a punch in order to ignite a smackdown, I agreed.

Even if you don’t look to blog for business, bloggers might be able to pick up a tidbit or two from this little chat at Central Library. I’m going to talk about some different strategies for writing and creating effective content, tips on how to build your readership and a quick lesson on social media for bloggers.

I missed it! As a struggling blogger/artist myself are there any good resources that I can look into that may help me bring people to my site? Because I am very visual I like the idea of doing a photo blog but I also understand the need to write content. Do you have any tips on how one might harmonize the two? Thanks in advance! Your blog is inspirational! ~ToFeR
