Around Town: Blue Dome Diner

Breakfast, lunch, dinner, a bar, an event space—the Blue Dome Diner in downtown Tulsa is just about whatever you want it to be, depending on when you ask.
My favorite time to go is in the morning, when my husband I load up on home fries, huevos rancheros and oatmeal, cooked to leave just enough bite, sweet, and flecked with raisins. While it’s good, it’s nothing we couldn’t do at home—but eating breakfast downtown, on the other side of a window from the Blue Dome for which the district is named, it’s a space that feels like if you had all of your most interesting friends stay the night and help you the next morning with the scrambled eggs, maybe you could feel justified staying away. But there’s no beating the random coffee cups. It’s the best collection in town. Last Sunday, we had a striped cat and Smith Orthodontics.
